THE PROJECT:
Amy was a transplant from Chicago with only a couple of “donated” pieces of furniture for her living room. Her goal was to completely redo her living room on a budget.

THE APPROACH:
Working within her budget, we transformed Amy’s living room from college dorm to young sophisticate. We started with a fresh coat of paint doing away with the two-toned fireplace. A custom loveseat in a timeless style and color with a couple of animal print pillows is the anchor piece of the project. We scored a pair of fantastic vintage thrift store chairs that we upholstered in an Ikat style fabric that added color and print. Flanking the loveseat, a pair of black end tables with removable trays are topped with fun and funky lamps. The rug and window panels were both retail purchases. We customized the ready-made panels with a Greek Key trim done with grosgrain ribbon. Finally, we re-hung her art, added a bar cart and “Voila”, transformation complete!

Amy’s comment when she came home—“I love it!! I felt like those people who are on design shows on TV walking into my house yesterday!! Thanks so much for putting the room together”.
