THE PROJECT:
In 2009, the Bushes were ready to tackle a major remodel of their kitchen.

THE APPROACH:
Kitchen:
With the help of an architect, we relocated the basement stairs from the kitchen to the entry that allowed for more space in the kitchen without changing the original footprint. We were able to recreate the original moldings featured in the living and dining rooms into the kitchen and carried the cabinetry to the ceiling. The kitchen now has three distinct counters including: baking area with a stainless steel surface, cooking area around the range with Zodiac countertops and a prep area with a wood cutting board near the dishwasher. Fir floors finish the “original” look. Finally, French doors were added which allow more natural light to enter the room, and lead out to an expanded deck for outdoor entertaining.
