sue augustyn—principal
Since 1989, Sue Augustyn has pursued her love of interior design, textiles and art. She helped found Designing Women Interiors in the late eighties, and through the nineties worked from home where she created window treatments, bedding, slipcovers and pillows for high-end designers as a workroom to the trade. It was during these years that she honed her eye for color, fabric combinations and the ability to bring a fresh, unexpected style into her current projects.
In addition to her design experience, Sue’s travels to the museums and flea markets of Europe and Mexico have broadened her approach to design and enhanced her ability to create projects that are tailored to the needs and desires of the client. Her talent for combining modern and vintage pieces creates an ambience of unmistakable style and sophistication.
In 2003, Sue opened her own showroom and interior design studio, featuring an unparalleled line of home furnishings and accessories. In March of 2007, she moved to a larger location to better serve the needs of her clients and to become an influential design resource for Portland area residents.
Sue serves on the board of the People’s Museum of Art in Bay City Oregon, which is committed to the historic art of the WPA period.
Part of all proceeds from her work is donated to Woman-to-Woman International an organization that helps women from war torn countries learn skills and start businesses.
